World Conference on Transport Research (WCTR) invited various experts to discuss urban mobility, policy instruments, freight and maritime transport.
Kenji Doi from Kagawa University explored the linkage in between transport, land use and infrastructure, whereas South African deputy minister of Transport, Jeremy Cronin focused on the challenge to develop liveable cities and promote a modal shift towards public and non motorised transportation. Xavier Godard from CODATU, underlined the importance of collecting sufficient information on the cities, particularly in Africa where data collection is often very complicated. Ramiro Rios of ITDP presented different modelling scenarios to estimate emission reductions from different policies at system, local and global level.
